We welcome all new members to the club, with the only real restriction being that you need to be at least 18 years of age. Whether your interest is climbing, walking, mountain biking, via ferrata, winter mountaineering, or skiing, we would be glad for you to join us.

We encourage new members to establish their place in our club by taking part in our meets and events programme, this provides vast opportunity to get out in the hills and mountains with a variety of like minded and experienced climbers who will be able to pass on their knowledge and help new members to develop their skills… what it’s all about really isn't it?

We understand that it can be quite difficult to simply turn up and introduce yourself to a group of people you don’t know in a pub, or at a campsite miles from home. So we recommend that you first make contact with our Outdoor Meets Secretary, who generally attends every club meet, and will happily make arrangements to help you get to our next meet, making sure you get a personal introduction to everyone you meet on your first trip away with us—it really couldn’t be any easier, no matter how shy you might be! Most importantly we want to help you to achieve what you aim to get from the club, maybe a new climbing partner, some help with your rope work, or just a new bunch of likeminded friends.

Whatever it is, we’re sure you will find it with us!

If you decided that you do want to join the club, you will need to fill out an application form. You will also need to be elected and seconded by current members of the club, who will need to sign this form — attending a couple of meets will normally get you plenty of offers! Membership paperwork should be sent to our membership secretary. Once you have sent in an application form, you will be considered for prospective membership. Following six months as a prospective member, your application will be considered for full membership at a committee meeting. The Ceunant is all about meeting up and getting out climbing, so your participation within the club will greatly influence this decision!
