The Ceunant Mountaineering Club is essentially Birmingham based, we do however include and welcome new members from all over the Midlands and further afield.

With around 150 members from several generations, a huge wealth of knowledge and experience from every mountaineering background can be found within the Ceunant MC.

Our Outdoor Meets Secretary organises a varied program of both regular weekend meets and longer trips around the UK, Europe and beyond! In previous years, these have included the French/Italian/Swiss Alps, Lundy Island, the Italian Dolomites, Corsica for the GR20 long distance mountain walking route, the Canadian and US Rocky Mountains, not to mention a whole host of Skiing Trips to top Ski Resorts all over the world!

Several social events are held during the year, organised by our Social Meets Secretary - an Annual Dinner, Christmas Party, various slideshows, talks and curry nights.

Many Ceunant members meet quite regularly on Wednesday evenings. During the winter months this is more often than not at the Creation Climbing Wall in Moseley. Following a good session on the wall, members go down to the Spotted Dog in Digbeth (Corner of Alcester St & Warwick St) at 9.30pm. In the summer we try to get out to the crags, however, being somewhat short of locations you might describe as “local”, this is not always as frequently as we might like!

The Meets and Events page on our website details our activities planned throughout the year, including any cragging evenings during the summer.

T’yn Lon, the Ceunant home from home in North Wales, is located in the dramatic setting of the Llanberis Pass. T’yn Lon has grown and developed over the last 50 years from a small and basic cottage, to a world class climbers hut with all the facilities you could ever need to enjoy a good weekend walking and climbing in Snowdonia. This of course also has the advantage of being less than 100yds walking distance from the front door of the Vaynol Arms pub in Nant Peris.
